My name is Kimberlyn (Kimi). I joined non-profit work as I became passionate about improving society, specifically the youth as this is the stage where dreams and education prosper and everyone deserves the opportunity to explore their avenues. This correlates with me as a person too as I am a social butterfly with a love for gaming, design, matcha, music, and much more!

Hi! My name is Natalia Lara and I’m the Secretary Director of Brighter Futures. I was driven to join Brighter Futures because of my desire to create more equitable opportunities for the students in our community. Every child deserves a thorough education that will equip them for their future. I believe that every individual has the power to create change, so join us in our cause! In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, watching movies, and hanging out with friends!

My name is Abbey and I am Brighter Futures’ media relations officer and graphic designer! I enjoy working with children and empowering the next generation of youth through education has become something I am passionate about. I love music and thrifting, and in my free time you can find me at the gym or painting in my room.

Hello! I’m Joaquin. Throughout my academic career, I’ve found that individual performance is heavily reliant on the educational environment of the student. As a member of this organization, my mission is to establish equal educational opportunities around the world, providing the necessary materials and resources to those in need. Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m extremely passionate about equity and opportunity in education, and I look forward to supporting underserved students and communities through our various events and programs. Outside of Brighter Futures, I dedicate a lot of time to clubs and organizations that focus on serving my high school, EGUSD, and the greater Sacramento region. In my free time, I love to bake, read, and go on walks!

Hi, I’m Buland, a highly motivated and ambitious high school student seeking an opportunity to share and expand on my leadership and communication skills in a professional work environment which happens to be this amazing non-profit organization. I am determined and eager to provide high quality results and acquire knowledge through new and challenging experiences.

I joined the tutoring committee to make a positive impact on students’ academic journeys. I enjoy traveling and watching TV. I have been involved in another tutoring program for elementary schoolers in English and literacy, as well as various organizations at my high school. I hope to continue making a difference in the community.

Hi my name is Kaylee and I’m a junior at Sheldon! I’ve always wanted to change the world—as corny as it sounds—no matter how small my impact is. I’ve had the privilege to do so through leadership positions at school, and through volunteer work at local organizations to support Sacramento’s youth. I enjoy expressing myself in the creation of jewelry, reading, and listening to music. Some of my favorite artists are Mac Demarco, Clairo, and the Marias!

As the owner of my own henna business, I enjoy showcasing my culture and artistic abilities through intricate designs for special occasions. Hello all, my name is Andrew Wang! I am a sophomore at Cosumnes Oaks High school. I have a passion for sports, entrepreneurship, and STEM. I enjoy playing basketball as a hobby but I take volleyball more seriously. I also resell shoes occasionally because I love interacting with other people who share the same hobby as me. For my academic career, I would like to pursue STEM and get into the specifics of bioengineering. I have a little sister that is in 2nd grade so I know what it’s like to communicate with kids. I am delighted to bring my skills to Brighter Futures and plan on making a lasting impact by helping others around me.

Hii, my name is Kai Lin. A big reason I joined Brighter Futures is that it allowed me more opportunities for me to aid others in their academic adventure. Since last year, I’ve been involved in my school’s chapter of CSF which places heavy importance on peer-tutoring. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. A fun fact about me is that I’m a twin. 😀

Some hobbies I have are playing games with friends and working out. Things I’m passionate about are building things and sometimes if i’m not lazy, I weirdly like to clean stuff. One of my main goals is to consistently make myself a better person and human in different ways. While I haven’t had much formal volunteer work experience, I find satisfaction in working to help others and find solutions. Even though I don’t like how much time and energy I have to put into helping others, I just keep doing it because it makes me happy.

Hi, my name is Ashley and I wanted to join Brighter Futures so I can help support others with both education and relations. I’m very experienced with making good relationships from frequently attending different schools and playing on my school’s tennis team. I’d love to guide and offer assistance to the youth so they can have a more smooth experience with learning and help build their skills for the future. With my experience in the CSF tutoring program at my school, I hope I can provide helpful advice and support for the youth. Hello, my name is Jaslyn Ng and I will be a senior this year! Outside of school, I enjoy dancing, drawing, traveling, and hanging out with friends! I have been dancing since I was 3 years old in ballet and traditional Chinese dance, competing in multiple competitions, and performing in shows, restaurants, and festivals. In school, I am the founder and co-president of the Art for Charity club, creating art pieces to donate to organizations such as animal shelters, nursing homes, etc. I am the secretary of the California Scholarship Federation where we help tutor our peers. I am also part of different clubs including the Science Olympiad, Debate Club, Mock Trials, Link Crew, and National Honors Society volunteering at the Elk Grove Food Bank and various places in my community and school. I’m Josh and I’m a tutor with Brighter Futures!  I joined Brighter Futures to generate a passion for learning similar to the one I feel and to inspire many to achieve there goals.  I’ve previously worked with after school programs to help younger kids to learn and have privately tutored many students before.  In my free time I love to rock climb and play games and most of my time is spent on that!  I love the mindset and people running Brighter Futures and I hope my impact can make a difference!
